Album

Fetch is the seventh album by the Japanese noise rock band Melt-Banana. It was released on October 1, 2013, on CD, LP and digitally. Fetch was Melt-Banana's first studio album in six years, after Bambi's Dilemma in 2007. During that time, the band toured extensively, including a U. tour with Tool, and playing at the Sydney Opera House with Lou Reed's Metal Machine Trio. Band members Yasuko Onuki and Ichirou Agata also performed shows as Melt-Banana Lite, an alternate configuration of the band that. Barring their 2009 Melt Banana Lite Live: side project album, Fetch is the groups first collection of new material since 2007s Bambi's Dilemma. Even with the hiatus, it took the band longer than expected to finish Fetch. In 2011, the recording sessions had to be postponed due to the Tohoku earthquake and the aftermath of the subsequent meltdown at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Album 2013 12 Songs. Alternative left listeners on a curious note with 2007s frighteningly poppy Bambis Dilemma, but that dissonance has been resolved on fetch, in true Melt-Banana fashion, with more dissonance. This is the Melt-Banana of their mid-90s prime: salivating Pavlovianly over the acceleration of culture, twisting the tools of psychedelia into things of surgical precision, and envisioning cyberpunk grindcore before reality knew it could bear the weight of such a thing. It still might not-but fetch at least harmonizes more disharmoniously with the tenor of the times. Melt-Banana's return to the fray is everything and more than their dedicated fan base could have hoped for. Here's our review. If youve been kicking your heels since 2007s Bambis Dilemma though, fetch is a smorgasbord of delights. For those who havent had Melt-Banana in their life, diving straight in with their latest is the best option. As is often the case with a Melt-Banana LP, the record is sublimely structured. The ending is worth calling out immediately though. Closing track Zero is the centrepiece to fetch the destination that every other track nods towards. Released 2013. fetch Tracklist. Candy Gun , the original bubble-gnash architects of scrape-and-soar noise-punk have returned for a fresh 33-minute caffeine jolt. Their eighth album, fetch, arrives after a six-year silence - the record was side-lined in 2011 after the Thoku earthquake and subsequent meltdown at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, a disaster that resulted in more than 15,000 lives lost. Fetch is a full reinvention for the band - now touring as a Sparks-gone-grindcore spazz-pop duo - mixing their sugar-rush blastbeats with the optimistic, earth-embracing melodies of bands like Boredoms and Ponytail it eve. Melt-Banana Fetch. 1 excellent. Noticing a trend The album is non-stop chaos, brimming with vivid, brilliant color and flavor Fetch is almost like the audible version of a sharp Technicolor cartoon that you might watch while trippin off your ass, throwing your limp arms around like a retarded zombie. Its the sound of the world crumbling from overdoses of exhilaration, and its as rowdy and psychotic as well all be in those final moments. Bought this title a while ago when I was new to discogs and I didn't even know it was the clear version since I apparently was blind and didn't understand where to look on this page. It was a very pleasant surprise when it arrived, however now that I look, the black splatter is nonexistent on mine, and when I look hard enough I can only see one single black dot on the entire record. A bit of a bummer now that I know what it's supposed to look like. None of this affected my enjoyment of the record and it's a great pressing nonetheless.
