With Paul McCartney, thats not necessarily the case. Out now and definitely worth a listen. The album is McCartney's first studio release since 2013's New. Egypt Station - Paul McCartney. Paul McCartney - Egypt Station 2018. Paul invites you on a musical journey to Egypt Station, estimated time of arrival Friday 7th September 7, 2018 by way of Capitol Records. As with McCartney's restless '70s output, the best items here are the omnibus tracks. Egypt Station is the 17th solo studio album by Paul McCartney, released by Capitol Records on 7 September 2018. As with McCartney's restless '70s output, the best items here are the omnibus tracks. So when Sir Paul announced the release of a new concept album called Egypt Station back in June and said it reminded me of the album albums we used to make, you could be forgiven for feeling simultaneously nervous and excited. The thing that Kurstin brings to the table is a refinement, letting McCartney's ideas shine incandescently while also revealing that a record this clever isn't tossed off, it's crafted in every respect. Egypt Station was produced by Greg Kurstin and co-produced by McCartney, with the exception of one track produced by Ryan Tedder. But the true standouts on Egypt Station are reserved for the last few stops. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of such covers qualifies as fair use. Egypt Station was produced by Greg Kurstin, with the exception of. Confidante Paul McCartney. Sharing a title with one of Pauls own paintings, Egypt Station is the first full album of all-new McCartney music since 2013s international chart-topping NEW. Just short video on the release date of Paul McCartneys latest album, EGYPT STATION. It was released by Capitol Records on 7 September 2018. Preceded by two of its tracks just released as double A-sides - plaintive ballad 'I Dont Know' and raucous stomper 'Come On To Me' - Egypt Station was recorded between Los Angeles, London and Sussex, and produced with the exception of one Ryan Tedder track by Greg Kurstin Adel. Such twists are welcome but what's satisfying about Egypt Station is what's always satisfying about a McCartney record: the hooks and imagination that are so rampant seem effortless. Optimists might picture a cohesive game-changer like Band on the Run, while pessimists might conjure up fears of one of Wings less-celebrated concept records like the plodding, exhausted Back to the Egg. is this a USA import?six more words are needed here.

I can now answer my own question, thanks to the images posted on Discogs for this release: There are unique US and UK pressings. My labels have the FBI Piracy Warning text directly under the 33 1/3. The labels shown here do not.
Gagas
Are the European versions unique pressings, as in, were the albums pressed in the Netherlands or were US imported copies used? From what I can gather, the original European tri-fold cover was simply reused for this release in Europe -- hence the original promo sticker and the need for a sticker revising the barcode -- whereas the US pressing has a modified tri-fold cover with the correct barcode printed on it. Also for the record, my US copy, ordered through paulmccartney.com, did not have a download coupon or promo sticker.

Getting pricey this. It was pricey to begin with. Any idea how limited this actually is? Haven't seen many around i must say.

How do we tell the Orange/Blue release (this one) from the Standard "2 × Vinyl, LP, Album, Deluxe Edition, Limited Edition, Concertina Sleeve, 180g" Discogs release: Paul McCartney - Egypt StationThey look the same from the outside - assuming these items are SEALED they look the same!
Steamy Ibis
The orange/blue release was only available online on Paul McCartney's and udiscover's (Bravado in Germany) websites. The (only) difference is the coloured version has an extra sticker on the shrink foil with the following barcode: 602567787372, while the original barcode: 602567545040, is also printed on the backcover of the coloured version.
Jum
Just to use the ten words there is a different barcode sticker over the barcode on the coloured version. I believe!
Jorius
Could someone who owns this release please add the barcode to the listing? Is/was there a sticker over the barcode on the rear on the outside of the cellophane? If so, what is the barcode number please? Thanks.

You're welcome!(...and now some more words to reach the 10)

Thank you to enagy84 who has already done this as per request above.

I have matched the product codes on the artists store website and I do indeed have the Deluxe Coloured Vinyl Version. I will add the barcode details to the Discogs listing myself.
Malien
This listing is still a stub. There is also a third colored vinyl version. Besides green LPs by Spotify there is this red double as Barnes & Noble exclusive in the US. However bn.com has stopped shipping to EU member country addresses in Europe.
CopamHuk
So no listing yet for the Deluxe coloured edition? Anybody get one?

I’ve been feeling rather ambivalent about Paul McCartney ever since he and his infamous bandmates parted company. That’s not to say that he’s not tried, it’s just that he seems to have been trying to be anyone other than Paul McCartney with his overindulgent vegetarian ideals, this superfluous duets with the likes of Micheal Jackson and a whole host of other issues that have essentially clouded his way, making him come off as irrelevant and distracted.Without a doubt Egypt Station has been structured as some sort of latter day Sgt. Pepper, filled with tracks that flow into others, instrumentations that ebb and blend, dominated by vocals that come off with strength and worthy resolve, often as if he’s finally managed to cosmically connect with John Lennon, especially on the track “Come On To Me.” On other numbers, namely “Happy With You,” he sings like a young man filled with the haunted memories of an old man looking back on his life, having come to terms with who he was, who he is, and delightfully embracing all that has gone into making him Paul McCartney. Each song turns a corner you don’t see coming, especially when the track “Who Cares” rolls from your speakers, a blues laden number filled with swagger and nuance, a song that will have you punching the sky, singing right along. On the whole, the album’s very enigmatic, emotionally targeted, filled with disarming manifestations of playfulness that are altogether direct in their nature, feeling very emancipated. I’m not gonna claim that all of this material is first rate, consider “People Want Peace,” sparking me to wonder who he’s singing to, yet even that which isn’t first rate comes across as being unmistakably Paul McCartney. If there’s one thing that stands out, it’s Paul’s songwriting, just listen to “Confidante,” an unabashed nod to the Judy Collins’ song “Both Sides Now” from a bygone era, woven with psychedelic imagery.Of course [laughing] the real surprise for me was hearing “Back To Brazil,” leaving me feeling that he’d finally discovered Donald Fagen, though Paul pulls it all off without slipping into the dark waters that so deeply nurture Donald. These were my thoughts as I listened to the record, flush with anticipation and the expectations that Paul would deliver something, anything as good as even one single Beatle album, but truth be told, he doesn’t. All and all, there are five songs that are worthy keepers, songs that I’ll add to my collection of other great numbers from the twenty-five albums he’s released since leaving The Beatles, albums that have entirely let me down, showing me more than ever that Lennon & McCartney were but a single soul that could not live without the other. So yes, here as on other albums there are a handful of songs that I’ll keep, but for the most part, I’ll never play this album again in its entirety.*** The Fun Facts: The album title Egypt Station is shared by one of McCartney’s paintings created in 1988, and goes into making up the visual aspects of the album art. Paul explains, “Why I called it Egypt Station was because it looked like a station, like train lines at the bottom, and underneath that, the edge of the platform.” Review by Jenell Kesler

beds0744 so you have your own little section here to critique, that's nice, its a free country. so, how many times to did you listen to the new mccartney before you came to the conclusion that its not worth listening to from beginning to end like we did back when AOR was the the thing. do you know what i mean? do know what AOR is? Woooo ... have I been taken to the woodshed and spanked or what, gosh, I do feel ashamed, hands thrust deeply into my pockets kicking at stones with the tips of my boots wondering how I can impress upon you my innate love of music, that opinions are subjective and if you don't like what I have to say, then string together your own words. Matter of fact, I think that I said as much in my review, even noted the better tacks. It's a big world, you're free to like or dislike any album for any reason, or love it for the same, though truth be told, no McCartney album has ever measured up to any Beatle album. As to AOR, the term came into being during the mid 60's as a sly way for the fledgling progressive FM radio to claim they were superior to those AM stations that still played 45rpms. Though with that in mind, more often than not, those stations pretty much played the same one or two tracks from those albums, meaning they might have just as well been playing singles.See, music defines people's lives and for me to suggest something others like is not to my taste, that in-effect is to criticize them personally. And important life lesson is not to attach too much weight to criticism, like what you like, express your own opinion without attacking me for expressing mine.

Fairly certain the ability to post a review, a completely subjective opinion, is not limited to any particular country on Discogs.
